When a friend of my family's asked me to part with one of my underwater cameras so that he could try U/W photography, I was torn. But I ended up
selling him my Nikonos camera system. Why? Because for all of the reputation of the Nikon, my Sea & Sea camera was a WHOLE lot more useful.
For one, I was able to switch from normal to macro photography while underwater! (The Nikonos required that the camera
be totally dry so as not to risk the inside getting wet while changing out the lens.) The extra lens for macro on the Sea & Sea are designed
to be screwed on while wet, so I did not have to decide WHICH kind of photography I wanted to do before getting wet.
I also preferred the flash for two main reasons: The flexible arm helped me aim the flash at my discretion and the flash is a
daylight balanced, SLAVE. This latter meant that I had a usable slave (during exposure the flash will go off in sync when it sees another flash)
that was the right color balance for my above-water flash photography.
