During my first trip to Italy in 2004, I backpacked around the country trying to see as much art and life as I could in six weeks. What I determined most was that I needed to return and stay in one location for a good length of time to really study the art that is there. So, in September of 2006 I returned to the city of Michelangelo -- Firenze (Florence). And so I began to improve my drawing skills, as well as my eye for disegno (design).

I hope you love these figurative drawings in pencil. Each is a study of gesture, even if subtle; shapes and space; and light and shadow.
