NEWS: Exhibits
Please join me on Opening Night:
"Sunny Days, Starry Nights" presented by AVAA
Dell Jewish Community Center
7300 Hart Lane, Austin, Texas
Thursday, June 21, 7 - 9 p.m.
The Austin Visual Arts Association (AVAA) is celebrating the summer solstice with an artists' reception for their state-wide juried exhibit "Sunny Days, Starry Nights". I was thrilled to be listed as a "hometown favorite" in AVAA's press release of the show.
Exhibit runs through July 29th. Hart Lane is just three lights west of MoPac, off of Far West Boulevard. Turn north (right) on Hart. DJCC will be on your left.
August 10-12, 2001; Loveland, Colorado
Loveland Sculpture Invitational (LSI)

RECENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:
MARBLE/marble
I am terribly excited about being able to attend the MARBLE/marble Symposium later this summer in Marble, Colorado. The week-long workshop focuses on stone-carving (in - you guessed it - marble!). I was awarded a scholarship to MARBLE/marble last December and am really looking forward to carving new works in this beautiful stone! Depending on space, I may have my marble work-in-progress in my booth at the Loveland Sculpture Invitational, mentioned above.

WIN ART: Deadline extended to June 30, 2001
So what's the catch?
I am trying to decide whether or not to make my art available via merchandising (T-shirts, mugs, etc.) in addition to the notecards I have. I also have an untitled painting in my collection. Help me title this artwork (and give me your opinions) and you could win
FREE art of your choice!
For details, go to:

NEW WORK:
Puffer - a fish and coral in stone
Thank you to all of you who sent encouragement while "Puffer" was shown on the "works-in-progress" Web page. This carving from a raspberry-banded piece of Utah alabaster is now complete and will make its public debut in Loveland, Colorado, in August (see above exhibits listing). Get a preview of this stone sculpture by visiting:
www.borsheimarts.com/sculpture/2001/puffer.htm
Reginald - a figurative bronze
My newest bronze sculpture is a walking figure titled "Reginald", after the model. He is about half life-size and is a limited edition of 20. "Reginald" is still at the foundry. Ending 30 June, a pre-casting price (more than a 10% savings) is posted on the Web site with images of the sculpture in clay at: www.borsheimarts.com/sculpture/2001/reginald.htm
(If you are attending one of the two sculpture shows in Loveland this year, save on shipping charges if you order now, but let me bring the sculpture up to you at the show.)
A handful of new figurative oil paintings are on view at:

ART COLLECTOR RESOURCES
I have added to the "Information for Collectors" section of my Web site. In April, I attended an artist seminar about making art that lasts. I came home with some booklets filled with resources and advice (although mostly for 2-dimensional art) on caring for and even restoring artworks. Much of this information I have put on my site to give collectors a head start on any restoration needs. Please visit this page at:

FYI
I just wanted to let you know that I will be changing my Internet Service Provider and Web site host around mid-July. I am hoping for a smooth transaction, but I am sure you know that not everything goes as planned. If for some reason, you try to view my Web site or e-mail me during that month and you get a message that basically says, "Address no good. She's not here," then PLEASE try again in another few days or so.
I intend to be around for quite a long time (unless that Mack truck hits me)!
Thank you.
