Let's Talk:

Art is about communicating with one another, expressing thoughts, ideas, and sometimes even asking questions. Our communion with one another is vital to our well-being. On September 11, let's share a moment to honor the sense of community that was attacked on that day two years ago. If you would like to hear from me by phone (yes, long distance), I will call you at the number and approximate time you tell me would be convenient for you. And it won't cost you a cent!

Do you have a question about art? Do you enjoy talking to artists? Is there something you would like to ask me about my materials of stone, bronze, or painting? Are you interested in learning how to express yourself through art or by collecting art? Is there a gallery or an art show close to you that you would like to see my work in?

Or, if you just want to say hello without spending any money, just let me know. I have dedicated Thursday, September 11th, to talking to people who are important to me - that includes you! Offer limited to calls in the US only. Please send me your phone number and preferred time for me to call you (include your time zone please) via e-mail at sculptor@borsheimarts.com And do not worry - I never share your personal information.

My apologies:

I thought I was doing a pretty good job eliminating the SPAM e-mail I was receiving that was generated by the SOBIG virus; that is, until my Web hosting company upgraded their SPAM control programs. Between the two of us, we managed to insure that I no longer received any e-mail with "RE:" in the subject line (in other words, most people's replies to correspondence I had sent them).

I believe the problem is corrected now, so if you sent any correspondence to me and did not get a reply, please resend your message.

Calendar - Sculptfest & Fireman's Fundraiser

Listen for yours truly on a live radio spot on Austin's KLBJ FM Austintacious Entertainment 93.7 this Wednesday, Sept. 10th at 4 p.m. Several sculptors will be interviewed to promote the following event:

Sunday, September 14th (from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Sculptfest is right around the corner. I am working diligently to have 2 new works completed for your viewing pleasure at the show. This one-day free event is held at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum in Austin, Texas.

Other upcoming events:

Some wonderful art is being offered at auction (both silent and live) to help support the local fire fighters as well as develop a public arts program with the purchase of Bastrop's first public sculpture, a bronze titled "In the Line of Fire".
$10 donation at the door appreciated.

October 1-30; Reception: Saturday, Oct. 4, 5-7 p.m.

The featured artist of the month at the Bastrop Fine Arts Gallery is Kelly Borsheim. Reception date is noted above, but I will also be in the gallery each Saturday in October from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. either sculpting or painting. I would love to show you my work in person!

For more details my fall shows, visit my exhibits page online at: www.borsheimarts.com/exhibits.htm

I hope you are getting a chance to look up at the night sky to view the BRIGHT planet Mars. The peak-night was August 27th, and I can assure you it was a lovely sight!

Learn to Sculpt the Human Form:

Dedication:

This newsletter is dedicated to lovers. In particular, some of my dear wedded family members celebrated anniversaries recently (and John and I surprised them all by driving up to Minnesota to see them). My godparents, Uncle Alan and Aunt Carole Nelson of Winona, Minnesota, held the huge party we attended - 40 years of marriage! My Uncle Tom and artist Aunt Ginger Penaluna of Iowa celebrated 30 years together. And Grandma Pease and her husband Al were inundated with well wishes for their silver (25th) anniversary earlier this month. Congratulations to all of you!
