24" X 12" Oil on Canvas Kelly Borsheim Private Collection	"The Green Kytte"

Kytte is a great model and I have done numerous oil paintings of her. To create this particular painting, I used raw umber and white to create the tone painting. [Some people call this an underpainting, but since I prefer the use of tone to try to create the illusion of 3-dimensions out of 2, and color is not my primary statement, I feel as though the term underpainting makes all of my "noncolored" work sound unfinished.] After the painting had dried a little (only about 2-3 weeks), I glazed a transparent green over the whole painting. I also painted the frame with the same green.
