At some point, Italy, specifically Florence, inspired me to move into subject matters other than the human figure. I found myself drawn to window displays, architecture, and even people as abstract shapes within a setting, such as with Santo Spirito Shadows. I am enjoying this a lot as I work with pastels and charcoal in a new way. But also I know that I am working towards putting figures into context and more complicated compositions. I hope you enjoy the journey with me.
