I think of my drawing and painting style as a mixture of romance and architecture. Romance refers the the C and S curves I
use to create the gestures in my rough sketches. In the world of yin/yang, I tend to think of the "romantic curvaceousness" as a
feminine energy. The architecture refers to the short, but present straight lines that give strength to a figure, to the work.
This quality of structure, solidity, and support feels masculine in energy to me. Of course, we each are a combination of both qualities, in
various mixtures, as is each of my artworks.
Women and men carry their bodies differently. I am not sure if this is natural or learned, but I tend to think that
"everything is true." I hope that you enjoy these artworks of the female figure. I prefer strong individuals in my friendships and
more curvy women in my forms. Still, there are so many bodies to portray, each with a story to tell . . .
