"Dark Arno" - Original Pastel Painting on Black Roma Paper
For years artist Kelly Borsheim admired the little turquoise boat that sat parked near the famous Ponte Vecchio and in the Arno River running through Florence, Italy. Someday, she knew that she would paint it. One night, it turned out . . .
Kelly adores this long and narrow proportion! And she has been creating more and more pastel drawings on black paper, loving the dramatic look. The strong pigments that are pure pastel work beautifully with black. The ribbed Roma-brand paper adds a textural effect and most of the Arno River is pure black (the natural paper without pastel) in this image, leaving more to the imagination and pulling your eye into the scene.
Like all of Kelly's pastel and charcoal artworks, this one has been treated with a fixative spray and will ship safely to your home or office.
