Juan was commissioned by Juan Meza, owner of Juan In A Million restaurant in Austin, Texas. This is the second portrait I have ever sculpted. (The first bust was created during my first sculpture class in September 1994, and the one that landed me this commission.) The creation of the bust Juan took about 4-5 months (if you don't count the time it was in the studio, but not being worked on). |
