This original stone carving of two faces was done in a blue marble from Australia. The first woman's face is looking up and waiting for a kiss. Her hair blows back away from her
face. And behind her hair, the partially obscured face of another figure emerges, also puckering, asking for a kiss. The marble has little crystals in it (what I call "spark-lees") which adds to the unique
blues in the stone. The marble is layed down in subtle stripes of the blue with a cream color.
Kiss Me Blue (Bacilo Blu) Stone Sculpture - Marble Art:
Kiss Me Blue is an invitation. To Kiss. To Touch. To look up and seek what it is that you want. A kiss can change lives. An invitation to kiss is often an expressed desire to be rewarded and to change by adding a new element to oneself - if even for just one moment.
Carving the Original Art Sculpture - Australian Blue Marble "Kiss Me Blue"
I bought this Australian blue marble in the summer of 2004. The "before" pictures were taken 26 October 2005.
I had another idea for this piece originally, but when I actually set it up on a stand, I decided I wanted to work a little bit larger, so what was once intended to be used for a full figure became a face and a very long neck.
